South Carolina Personal Pathways to Success
Personal Pathways to Success is for all South Carolinians, combining strong career development tools and high academic standards to create a world class, 21st century workforce.
Personal Pathways to Success is designed around sixteen national career clusters to establish a foundation for how schools guide in student course selection. In middle school, students begin taking career interest assessments and realizing the connection between personal interests and career opportunities; at the end of 8th grade every student with their parent and counselor completes an Individualized Graduation Plan (IGP)selecting one of the sixteen career clusters to focus on in high school; the IGP is revisited, revised and updated yearly, providing students a post-secondary education and career plan upon graduation.
